Why should I donate to Chennai Tricolor Initiative?
Chennai Tricolor Initiative is a non-profit volunteer driven organization and we require funds for several of our ongoing initiatives and new ones that are being planned on a quarterly basis.
For our Flag Project we need to raise ₹ 50 Lakhs+ of funding. This is required to build and maintain the monumental flag.
For our Tech For Cities project, we are constantly on the need for larger server spaces and new paid tools that will help us help the government faster.
The donations will also help support several other initiatives including Colors of Chennai, Debate Club and Crisis Support.
Will I get tax benefits?
Chennai Tricolor Initiative is a Volunteer-run non-profit an 80G certified organization(URNo. AABTC9475A/05/16-17/T-2231/80G). Contributions to the Chennai Tricolor Initiative Trust are eligible for tax benefits under Section 80G.
Will I get updates on what happened to my donation?
Absolutely. We will keep sending constant updates
Why do you want to build a flag? Isn’t that the government's job
They should and they would. But imagine if, a symbol that stands for the country, is owned by the people - in a true form of democracy.
Why is this a Citizen’s effort? How do you expect it to stay so?
There is a charitable non-profit trust that has been setup for this effort - which is volunteer run and will always continue to be supported by the people.
